Living with a Volcano View allows for the ever changing "Shades of Green" and the Colors reflected on the "Volcano" by the "Clouds and Sun".

Since retirement I left the "United States" and hot and humid "Florida" and found myself in a Rustic Cabin 6 months old when I bought it furnished for 105K 2 years ago. I have a Volcano View, 10 minutes from the Top "Tourist Destination" in Costa Rica.

With Rainforests and the Volcano and the perfect climate mid 80's as the high with no Humidity, and mid 70's at night, I have found Paradise.

I now Paint as a Hobby and Photograph Wildlife, Jungle, Rainforest, Landscapes.

Costa Rica well known for it's Wildlife, Volcanoes, and Beautiful Beaches. This small Country is one of the "Top Tourist" destinations in the World.  Since Retirement in the United States, I settled into a 6 month old, Log Chalet fully furnished at the Base of "Arenal Volcano".

Lucky enough to have escaped the "Real Estate" crash in the "United States", for my wife was a Realtor and I a retired Doctor. We left a Historic Home in a Small Riverside enclave in Cocoa, Florida.

Well we found, a great neighborhood, and a Home with nothing between us and the Volcano but the Rainforest. I thought I would share with those who have never been on "vacation" to "Costa Rica" the wonders found inside this "Protected Land".

The "Rainforest Jungles of Costa Rica" one of Nature's finest sights. Since Retirement from the United States, I relocated to a House at the base of " Arenal Volcano".

With the Rainforest at my Front Door, the "Rainforest is just at the base of " Arenal Volcano" just yards from my Home. From Florida, to a "Rainforest" it is spectacular. Now, I spend my time, "Painting and Photographing the Animals in the Rainforest.

The Tropical Birds such as the MotMot above are very rare and I captured one in a photo just steps into the Rainforest. The Pair of Great Green Macaws is Painted in order to promote the Reintroduction of a "Birding Species" that is slowly dwindling due to deforestation. "Costa Rica" famous for Volcanoes and lush Rainforests that are Natural Wonders which are always Entertaining.  This afternoon, after a Light Rain Shower the Volcano was Breathtaking. The Volcano was covered at it's Peak with Layers of Clouds which reflected different colors....I call this " A Volcano Halo"

I live at the Base of "Arenal Volcano" on the Cerra Chato side, which is Protected Rainforest's full of Wildlife of all kinds. The "Rainforest Jungle" is a Protected Land by the Costa Rica Government. On a Daily basis, I see Birds, Lemurs, Monkeys, and the ever changing colors and Clouds around the Volcano.       After Retirement in Florida, I looked for the "Perfect Retirement" residence for me. In Costa Rica, I have found the simple life, with Nice People, and Nature at my Front Door.

With this Environment that surrounds me, I have taken up Painting again in order to" Preserve the Rainforest". Rainforest Landscapes seem to me to be an unexploited subject. Perhaps, it is my perspective, since I live just 100 Meters from a Tropical Stream flowing through a Forested Ravine. This Rainforest Stream is formed by the "Arenal Volcano" in Costa Rica.

A ten minute Walk and scramble down the slope, the Path slippery wiht damp leaves, opens at Rivers Edge, inot a Primordial World.  All of my senses are overwhelmed  by the smell of Humus, green vegetation, Jungle Flowers, along with the Buzz of Ciciadas and endless Tropical Birds.   Very Rare and Endangered Species, can be found in Tree Tops and long the River Banks. The Dappled Light filtering through the Palms, filled with Bromedliads and Orchids overwhelms your senses, and is so Inspiring to know that some Parts of Nature are still Untouched.   How can anyone put a value on "Endangered Species and Rainforests".
I have placed a Value on it to," Protect the Rainforests and the Wildlife" within.

The banks of The Volcano River are full of "Huge Basaltic Boulders" from a Volcano Eruption in 1968.
