Many Friends have called us from the "United States" asking if we have seen the TV Series "Love in the Wild". We Live in "LaFortuna, Costa Rica" where the Episodes were filmed. I wondered why there were Helicopters with cameras flying over my cabin at the Base of "Arenal Volcano" .

Since Relocating from "Florida" to "LaFortuna, Costa Rica" we have found paradise. With the "Rainforest at our front door, peace, security and exceptional neighbors, we feel as secure here as we did in our Historic Neighborhood in "Cocoa, Florida".

I hear the "Costa Rica" is the Talk of the "United States" for it is truly Paradise. "Love in the Wild" shows you the exceptional Wildlife and Animals found here in Central Costa Rica, and the fabulous Resorts amoungst Eco-Friendly Cabins.

Since Retirement as a Doctor of 30 years in "Cocoa, Florida", I wanted a tranquil life, and I found it in my Rainforest Home, only yards from the Rainforest and at the base of "Arenal Volcano".

"Laughing Falcon of Costa Rica"

This morning, I awoke and was having my coffee on my Porch enjoying the Clouds going past "Arenal Volcano". I noticed on a Brach overlooking the "River that runs off of Arenal Volcano" a Large Bird. Living just yards from the "Rainforest we see "Bird Species" on a daily basis. However, this Bird was very large and I had not seen one like this before.

I grabbed my Camera and Captured these Photographs of "Laughing Falcon". This Bird is 21 inches long, with a prominet black mask.

This Falcon one of the Many "Birds of Prey" that inhabit the "Rainforest Jungle". I have Painted and Photographed Wildlife off all kinds in the "Rainforest of Costa Rica". "Animal Paintings and Jungle Paintings are my passions. Since relocating from the "United States" I appreciate the Eco-Friendly Environment found here in Costa Rica.

Here i sit in my Home, in "LaFortuna, Costa Rica", Home to"Arenal Volcano"
"Volcano Arenal" is one of the Top Tourist destinations for those on "Vacation in Costa Rica".

My Husband and I traveled to Costa Rica for 7 years on vacation, seeking a potential "Retirment Home". After 30 years in Cocoa, Florida with the Oppressive Heat, endless Property Tax increases, we decided to seek an alternative to "Retirement in the United States".

Sure there is give and take, yet I would rather sit in my Cozy Pine Chalet just 300 yards to the Rainforest, and enjoy the weather of mic 80's during the day and a Pleasant 75 or so at night. Yes sometimes we even put on sweat pants. Here is our Home just half a mile from the Famous LaFortuna Waterfall and 8 minutes from all the Resorts such as Baldi Hot Springs with endless pool of water from the Arenal Volcano and for relaxation it has a swim up Bar.

Our Home purchased for 105K...taxes $400.00 a year, 2.00 monthly for water...Sat TV 45.00 a month 200 channels...

The "Rainforest is just yards from our Door, and attracts Birds of all kinds, Toucans, Macaws, Parrots are always Flying over and Landing in our Yard or the Rainforest Canopy that Borders the River at the Base of the Volcano. Costa Rica well known for it's Wildlife, Volcanoes, and Beautiful Beaches. This small Country is one of the "Top Tourist" destinations in the World.  Since Retirement in the United States, I settled into a 6 month old, Log Chalet fully furnished at the Base of "Arenal Volcano".

Lucky enough to have escaped the "Real Estate" crash in the "United States", for my wife was a Realtor and I a retired Doctor. We left a Historic Home in a Small Riverside enclave in Cocoa, Florida.

Well we found, a great neighborhood, and a Home with nothing between us and the Volcano but the Rainforest. I thought I would share with those who have never been on "vacation" to "Costa Rica" the wonders found inside this "Protected Land".
