"Easter and Community" were evident today, in a Community Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by "Desafio Adventure Company "        http://www.desafiocostarica.com/

Desafio Adventures sponsors this Event for the Children of Lafortuna, Costa Rica every Easter, yet this is the First Time I attended. Centered around the Local Park. Over 250 Bags were filled with Prizes for the Children.
"Easter was very Special for the Local Children through this Community Event". 
The Children of this Community in Costa Rica, were treated to a "Clown" who Entertained them all Afternoon.

The Clown Provided Entertainment and Humor to all the Children, from Balloon Animals, to a Coloring Contest, no detail was missed to bring the "Community Children" Happiness. Smiles were seen on the Children's Faces all day long. The Children were given Crayons and Pencils to Color with, I helped one Boy who I do not think every held a Crayon before, The Joy on their Faces was incredible. 

It was a Bright Sunny Day, Just the Perfect Weather, we enjoy here in "Central Costa Rica." The Children enjoyed a "Coloring Contest, then Clown Entertainment, and then it was time to find the"Treats that were hidden in the Park's bushes, and Trees".

This morning I walked a few yards from my Home in "Costa Rica"." Environment and Protected Rainforests", so Wildlife is present on a Daily Basis.  Costa Rica the" Land of Nature" is famous for Bird Species, a few feet into the Rainforest" Jungle", I could saw this "Colorful Tropical Bird".  Much to my advantage the Sunlight was perfect for a photo and the MottMott was not at all startled by my presence.
Wildlife and numerous Birding Species are slowly disappearing in the World Today, and to celebrate "Earth Day", I was Lucky enough to stumble upon a Great Example that a "Protected Rainforest" will allow "Beautiful Birds" to inhabit the "Earth" for Generations to come.

Wildlife,Birds and Endangered Species are my Passion. Let us all Protect them. 10% of all Sales of my Artwork will be donated to the "National Wildlife Federation".

"Costa Rica the Paradise" of Central America. Since moving to Costa Rica last year from the "United States", it has made me more aware of "Mother Earth" and how it can be Protected. I live 300 yards from one of the many Rainforest's in "Costa Rica". This Rainforest surrounding Volcano Arenal, a Famous "Vacation Destination" for Tourists, is Protected by the Government. With Blue Skies full of "Toucans, Hawks", and Hundreds of Birds Species, it is Nice to know they can Soar in the Skies and not be faced with extinction.
Today, instead of Television, I sat on my Porch and enjoyed the Monkeys, Birds and Sunshine. To think in Florida, it was rare to see a Hummingbird. No I do not live in a Remote Area, I am 10 minutes to La Fortuna, a Quaint Town usually full of "Tourists who are here for an Adventure". My Home is within minutes of  Waterfalls, Zip Lines through the Rainforest and Jungle, Horseback Riding, or a Nature Hike up Cerra Chato an extinct Volcanic Mountain Range with a Crater lake at the top.
Easter in Costa Rica is a week long Religous Holiday with Street Parades of Young Children carrying Flowers to the Church, Festivals and Beautiful Community Celebrations.



Come Visit Costa Rica, Vacation or Retirement, it is Paradise on this Earth Day and Everyday.

From Shipping Containter to Eco Friendly House in Costa Rica

I noticed a Large "Shipping Container" being placed on a Lot, in the small Cul de Sac, I live in next to

 the"Rainforest in Costa Rica".  I met Carlos and Avionics Engineer, who lives in"San Jose, Costa Rica".

Carlos explained, he wanted a "Retirement Home" for he is 10 years away from Retirement, yet he wanted to build it as cheaply as possible...
At first I was scared about a Shipping container as a House, yet the Tranformation has begun. I am going to Document this "Eco-Friendly" House for everyone. Why with all the need for Housing in the World, cannot everyone "Recycle" even Shipping Containers to a "Green House".
These pictures depict how Carlos removed the Flat Roof put in metal Trusses and is now in the process of installing a "Barrell Tile Roof of Recycled Plastic", in the States we call it Ondura. This is a great Roofing material, reflects sunlight, wont face and can withstand winds up to 130MPH, but this is "Costa Rica" all we have our earthquakes.
This fully sustainable "Green House" is possible for everyone...I will continue to document the progress for  I feel this is just a great and informative ideas, with" Real Estate" being in the condition it is, An Eco Freindly Transformation is a great alternative in the "Housing Market".
So amidst the Rainforest and River that runs off  of Volcano Arenal, there sits this "Great Green Housing Alternative"
